Coral Gables packed more than a dozen Halloween events into two weeks, running Saturday, Oct. 17, through Oct. 31. Options range from a $15 pumpkin patch to a free sensory-friendly trick-or-treat and a $6.50 haunted house.
The city's Community Recreation Department and partners including the Coral Gables Museum, Actors' Playhouse, Gables Cinema, Books & Books and the Consulate General of Mexico assembled the Halloween in the Gables calendar, released Sept. 28, as the Gables Gazette first reported. Several events have limited capacity.
Pumpkin Patch: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2–6 p.m.
The season opens at Ponce Circle Park, 2810 Ponce de Leon Blvd., with hundreds of pumpkins, live music, face painting, a mini harvest market and fall-themed photo areas. Residents can buy a $15 presale package covering one pumpkin and admission for up to four guests. A limited number of walk-up tickets will be sold the day of the event; the city has not posted a walk-up price.
Last year's Pumpkin Patch drew unexpectedly large crowds. Community Recreation Director Fred Couceyro told the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board in November 2025 that the city was weighing whether to expand the event or maintain ticket limits. "Do we blow it up and really throw resources at it, make it huge, or do we bring it down?" Couceyro said at the time, as the Gables Gazette reported.
Pinewood Cemetery bike tour: Sunday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
Bike Walk Coral Gables leads a costumed ride through what organizers call the oldest cemetery south of the Miami River, departing from the Coral Gables Museum. General admission is $10; children under 12, qualifying members and city employees pay $5. Bring your own bike.
Gentle Trick-or-Treat: Saturday, Oct. 24, 1–3 p.m.
This free event at Ruth Bryan Owen Waterway Park, 3940 Granada Blvd., welcomes children with sensory needs. The city's event page spells out the ground rules: no scares, no masked adults, a limited crowd and no expectations to speak, act or dress in a certain way. Activities include a storybook walk, a safe maze and art stations. Registration is required at [email protected] or 305-441-5650.
Pumpkin Float: Saturday, Oct. 24, 6–8 p.m.
Families carve pumpkins poolside at the Coral Gables Country Club, 990 Alhambra Circle, then watch illuminated jack-o'-lanterns float in the water. One ticket covers a family of up to four and includes a carving kit, trick-or-treat stations and snacks. Prizes go to the scariest, most creative and cutest carvings. Space is limited.
Nightmare on 405: Friday, Oct. 30, 6:30–9:30 p.m.
The War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Drive, converts its basketball gym into a haunted house. Tickets cost $6.50 each, are single-use and nonrefundable. Not recommended for children under 5. No entry after 9:30 p.m.
Halloween day on Miracle Mile: Saturday, Oct. 31
The biggest day stacks several events downtown. Trick-or-Treat on the Mile runs 3–6 p.m. along Miracle Mile, with free candy from participating businesses, face painting and balloon art at 3:30 p.m. and a magic show at 5 p.m. Actors' Playhouse stages The Wizard of Oz at 2 p.m. and Jekyll & Hyde at 8 p.m., with a children's costume parade at 4:30 p.m. Separate theater tickets may be required.
At Ponce Circle Park, the Consulate General of Mexico and the city host a Día de los Muertos celebration from 4 to 9 p.m. with traditional performances, music, dance and food. Drink-or-Treat, a self-guided crawl of restaurants and bars for adults 21 and older, begins at 6 p.m. along Miracle Mile, Giralda Plaza and surrounding streets. Guests collect a punch-map card and can earn a souvenir glass by purchasing drinks at three stops.
The Coral Gables Trolley runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 31, with Freebee rides also available.
