Gulliver Preparatory School's "Raider" yearbook has been inducted into the National Scholastic Press Association Hall of Fame after earning the organization's highest rating for 12 consecutive years.

The Pinecrest school's yearbook is the only one in South Florida to receive the distinction, according to Gulliver Prep's Oct. 20 announcement. The student publication will be formally recognized at the NSPA's Fall Convention in Orlando on Nov. 21.

Twelve years of top ratings

The NSPA Hall of Fame requires publications to earn at least 10 All American ratings within an 11-year span. Gulliver's yearbook exceeded that standard, collecting All American honors with four or five Marks of Distinction for 12 consecutive years.

"This is a very significant achievement reflecting a school culture that values and supports student media produced by talented and dedicated students guided by faculty advisers who empower students," NSPA Executive Director Laura Widmer said on the association's website.

The 2026 edition, titled "here for it," earned the highest possible All American rating with five Marks of Distinction. The recognition covered content, writing and editing, photography, visual design and layout.

Monica Rodriguez, Gulliver's digital mass media faculty and department chair, has guided the program throughout the streak. A South Miami Senior High School graduate and Florida International University alumna, Rodriguez has advised student publications since 1998, according to a Walsworth Yearbooks profile.

She also advises the school's "Reflections" literary magazine and "Raider Voice" news magazine.

A place in scholastic journalism history

Gulliver joins other South Florida student publications in the NSPA Hall of Fame. Coral Gables Senior High School's "Highlights" newspaper was inducted in 1993, while Miami Palmetto Senior High School's "The Panther" newspaper earned the honor in 2002, according to the association's roster.

The "Raider" is one of five publications selected for induction in 2026, all of them yearbooks.

The honor recognizes the work of successive Gulliver yearbook staffs from 2014 through 2026, whose members changed each school year while maintaining the publication's record of national recognition.

Established in 1988 with 13 charter members, the NSPA Hall of Fame has recognized 243 student newspapers, magazines, websites and yearbooks nationwide.
