A free outdoor arts event that drew hundreds to Ponce Circle Park before going dark in 2012 returns Friday, Oct. 9.

Art in the Park, presented by Mastec under the Carnaval Miami umbrella, will feature live music, local art, food and drinks at the park at 2810 Ponce de Leon Blvd. from 7 to 11 p.m.

The City of Coral Gables announced the revival on Thursday, Oct. 8, describing the event as back after more than a decade. Coral Gables Commissioner Rhonda Anderson shared the announcement on X on Oct. 8.

The event originally ran from 2007 through 2012, according to the Carnaval Miami event page. Organizers said the earlier series attracted hundreds of people while keeping an intimate, neighborhood feel. The event has not been held since.

Organizers have not released a performer lineup or vendor list for the Oct. 9 return. The city's events listing confirms the location and time but does not include additional programming details. Residents looking for more information can email [email protected].

Ponce Circle Park sits at the northern gateway to Miracle Mile, placing the event in one of the most walkable stretches of downtown Coral Gables. The park hosted the original Art in the Park series for six years before the event went on hiatus.

A second Art in the Park night is already scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13, at the same location and time.
