The father-daughter team behind Daniel's Miami in Coral Gables is bringing its steakhouse concept to Biscayne Bay.
Thomas and Kassidy Angelo, co-founders of Gioia Hospitality Group, signed a lease for an 11,500-square-foot restaurant on the ground floor of Aimco's 38-story luxury tower at 560 NE 34th St. in Miami's Edgewater neighborhood, according to The Real Deal. The deal closed Tuesday, July 7.
The space will include 2,500 square feet of outdoor dining and a bar overlooking Biscayne Bay. Rockwell Group, the design firm founded by David Rockwell, is designing the restaurant's interior. Michael Silverman and Jeff Evans of Comras Company brokered the lease on behalf of landlord Aimco.
"Kassidy and I are really excited to bring the Daniel's experience and hospitality to this location," Thomas Angelo told the Miami Herald. "It will allow people who live nearby in Bay Point or the Design District or even Miami Beach to experience Daniel's without making the long drive to Coral Gables."
The restaurant's final name and concept have not been announced, though the menu will center on Daniel's signature steaks and seafood. The Angelos are targeting a late 2027 or early 2028 opening.
Coral Gables restaurant earned Michelin recognition
The Angelos opened Daniel's Miami in summer 2025 at 1500 San Ignacio Ave., converting the former Fiola Miami space that Thomas Angelo had co-owned with chef Fabio Trabocchi.
The Coral Gables restaurant earned a place in the Michelin Guide and ranked No. 40 on the 2026 World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants list, No. 7 in North America and No. 6 in the United States.
The brand's first location, Daniel's, A Florida Steakhouse, opened in Fort Lauderdale in fall 2024. Both restaurants are included in the Michelin Guide.
Gioia Hospitality expands with multiple South Florida projects
In addition to the Edgewater restaurant, the Angelos plan to open La Sponda, a Southern Italian restaurant at Vita at Grove Isle in Coconut Grove, later in 2026.
The concept draws on the Angelo family's roots in Puglia, featuring house-made pastas and seafood with olive oil imported from Italy. Vita at Grove Isle is a 65-unit luxury condominium developed by Ugo Colombo's CMC Group.
Gioia Hospitality's culinary program is led by director Danny Ganem. The company's portfolio also includes D's Sports Bar in Fort Lauderdale, which was named Best Sports Bar by Fort Lauderdale Magazine.
