Three University of Miami football players will be at the Hurricanes Team Store in Coral Gables on Tuesday, July 21, for a free Meet & Greet open to the public.

Quarterback Darian Mensah, wide receiver Cooper Barkate, and running back Charmar Brown will greet fans from 6 to 7 p.m. at the store inside the Thesis Hotel, 1340 S. Dixie Highway, Suite 120. No ticket or purchase is required, according to a University of Miami Athletics announcement published Monday, July 14.

The event gives Coral Gables residents an early chance to meet Mensah in person since his offseason transfer from Duke. At Duke in 2025, Mensah threw for 3,973 yards and 34 touchdowns with just six interceptions, numbers that led the ACC according to Sports Illustrated's coverage of his transfer. He helped the Blue Devils reach the ACC championship before making the move to Miami.

"I wanted to compete for a national championship. I've got a lot of personal goals for myself, and I think Miami was the spot to do that," Mensah said at the ACC Football Kickoff on Wednesday, July 15.

Barkate followed Mensah from Duke, where the Harvard transfer posted 1,106 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 72 catches in 2025. Sports Illustrated reported he was Duke's first 1,000-yard receiver since Jamison Crowder in 2014.

Brown, already a Hurricane, rushed for 474 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025 after arriving from North Dakota State. CBS Sports, in a July 2026 preseason ranking, listed Miami's running back room No. 1 in college football.

The buzz comes after Miami's 2025 season ended in the College Football Playoff National Championship game, where the Hurricanes fell to Indiana after defeating Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Ole Miss in the bracket. The 2026 regular season opens Friday, Sept. 4, at home against Stanford.
