Miami Hurricanes commit Kweli Fielder debuted at No. 25 overall in ESPN's first SC Next Jr. 300, the network's inaugural ranking of Class of 2028 football prospects. CanesInsight reported the four-star offensive tackle's placement Saturday, July 18.

The 6-foot-4 lineman from Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Georgia, has started on the varsity team since his freshman season and has two years of high school remaining before arriving in Coral Gables. He is one of two Miami commits in the 2028 class, joining Knox Annis, according to Sports Illustrated's Miami Hurricanes coverage.

The family pipeline does not stop there. Fielder's cousin, quarterback C.J. Cypher, is committed to Miami in the Class of 2029 and ranked No. 4 in ESPN's cross-class top 25 recruits list, published Friday, July 17. ESPN lists him by his given name, Christian Cypher.

Carrollton coach Joey King told ESPN that Cypher "has a chance to be one of the best QBs he has coached." King previously coached Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence at Carrollton.

Miami lands two cousins from Georgia powerhouse

Both cousins committed to Miami following the Hurricanes' Legends Camp in June 2026. At the time of his commitment, Fielder told Sports Illustrated he was drawn to UM offensive line coach Alex Mirabal.

"He's amazing. He might surprise you with his height," Fielder said in June, laughing. "But his coaching is so great. He's going to get you better. He's going to develop you. That's what I need to do — develop."

Fielder also pointed to Miami's offensive line under coach Mario Cristobal, telling Sports Illustrated the Hurricanes "had the best offensive line in college football" during their College Football Playoff run.

Carrollton pipeline continues to grow

The Carrollton standouts give Miami two elite building blocks from one of Georgia's premier high school football programs. Cypher recently led Carrollton to the championship at the Under Armour Next S7VNS 7-on-7 tournament, where he was named one of four MVPs.
