More than 75 restaurants are offering prix fixe menus across Coral Gables this month, making the 2026 edition of Taste the Gables what the city calls its largest lineup ever.
The record roster, up from about 70 participants in 2025, pairs Michelin-recognized fine dining with neighborhood staples and a handful of recent openings, all at fixed prices starting at $30 for lunch and $45 for dinner.
Headlining the lineup is Shingo, the 14-seat Michelin-starred omakase counter led by chef Shingo Akikuni inside the historic La Palma Building on Alhambra Circle. Shingo's Taste the Gables prix fixe runs $180, available Tuesday and Wednesday evenings only.
This year Shingo is joined by STAND, its casual Japanese café spinoff that opened in June at 98 Miracle Mile. STAND is participating with a weekday lunch menu.
Among the newcomers to the promotion: The Wagyu Bar by Meat N' Bone, which opened April 13 at 4019 S. Le Jeune Road in the former Caffe Vialetto space, is offering a $35 lunch and $45 dinner Monday through Friday. Ró Steakhouse at 121 Alhambra Plaza, the U.S. debut of Mexico's ViCa Hospitality Group helmed by chef Marcelo Palacios, has a $35 lunch available Monday through Saturday.
Michelin Recommended spots Kojin 2.0 and Beauty and the Butcher round out the higher-end tier, alongside Miss Crispy Rice, which is running a nine-course lunch at $35 and a 13-course dinner omakase at $60. Fratellino Ristorante, a longtime Coral Gables favorite, offers a $35 lunch and $55 dinner.
"Each year, Taste the Gables grows and truly highlights the creativity and talent found in our restaurants," Belkys Perez, the city's economic development director, said in the city's announcement. "This year's lineup captures the energy of Coral Gables."
The promotion is an economic development play as much as a dining guide. July is typically a slower month for South Florida restaurants, and the program gives the city a tool to keep tables full when summer travel and heat thin out local foot traffic. Coral Gables' restaurant economy draws from office workers, University of Miami students, hotel guests, and foreign consulate staff, giving it a diverse daytime customer base beyond its residents.
Taste the Gables runs through Thursday, July 31. Full menus, chef features, and reservation details are listed at TasteTheGables.com.
