A luxury floral brand with 12 locations across South America has opened its first U.S. shop at 1516 Ponce de Leon Blvd. in Coral Gables, adding an international name to the city's retail corridor.

Alejandría Floral Art held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 13, drawing Mayor Vince Lago and Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce representative Gloria Baez, according to World Red Eye's event coverage. Lago followed up on X on Monday, Aug. 17, calling the city "grateful they chose Coral Gables."

Co-founders Omar Jacobo and Rocío Avalos launched the brand in Paraguay in 2019. It now operates nine locations there and three in Brazil. In an October 2025 profile in Forbes Paraguay, Jacobo described Miami as a global showcase for projecting Alejandría as an international brand and called the expansion path challenging but natural.

The Coral Gables shop sources roses, hydrangeas and garden roses from Colombian farms, consuming more than 25,000 Colombian roses per week across all locations, according to Coral Gables Magazine. Arrangements start at $80 for the Signature Rose Bouquet and run up to $1,000 for the Grand English Basket.

Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with natural light. Classical busts, oil paintings and ceramic vases line the walls alongside the arrangements. A small lounge area features a large arched backlit mirror and a digital display cycling through designs. All flowers are stored in a refrigerated unit in the back.

Great Place to Work named Alejandría one of the best companies to work for in Paraguay in 2024, a distinction the founders have cited as central to the brand's growth.

Online listings show the shop open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Orders can be placed in person, by phone at 786-300-2928 or online at AlejandriaFlowers.com. The founders told Forbes Paraguay in October 2025 that São Paulo and Dubai are next on the expansion list.
