Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's Community Affairs team visited La Petite Academy on Thursday, July 16, bringing a fire truck for a hands-on demonstration with young students, the department said on its verified X account the following day.

The visit is part of MDFR's ongoing truck demonstration program, which is free and open to schools and community organizations across Miami-Dade County, including those in Coral Gables, South Miami, and Pinecrest.

Groups must book at least two weeks in advance and provide a minimum of 10 participants, according to the county's Fire Rescue community services page. The Community Affairs unit ran similar demonstrations at Mika's Academy in West Kendall and at the City of North Miami Beach on Monday, July 6.

Beyond truck visits, MDFR offers free fire extinguisher training, evacuation drills through its "Getting Out Alive" program, and fire and fall safety sessions for older adults.
